Default Look who was in my boat this AM!

I had the urge to hit a mill pond this AM looking for decent bluegills (love bream!). This guy was already in the boat and noticed him about an hour in.

I fished for 2 hours and caught a bass, 1 small crappie and a dozen gills. I kept 8 to eat tonight with some garden maters. The little guy swallowed the jig and the others were 8-9+". Water temp was 76, and they were all caught in 5-7 FOW on a gulp cricket under a slip bobber. I liked watching the cork swim away from me when I was 8 and I still like it!

Love that kind of fishing, wish I still had access to a mill pond. Use to get corn meal from one that had a grist mill on it. Package deal, got the bream out of the pond and the cornmeal to fry them in.

Nice report. I've always liked throwing a jig under a cork. The day I don't like watching a bobber go under the water is the day I quit fishing.

Looks like a good time... All but the window woman. When she shows up, all activities are cancelled. I'm no good after messing with them, I mean even less good than normal.

"No prettier site I ever did see, than the rings where the cork used to be" One of the ol guys used to take me fishin as a kid would say that bout every time his cork diappeared. I can remember my Dad takin me fishin when I was really small, but the first GREAT trip was to a farm pond fishin for beddin 'Gills. I know now that he had already found the bed an all he done that day was put on grasshoppers(we caught them early that morn) an take off brim, 12 ft limber cane pole, black Dacron line, gold swivel, Eagle Claw snelled #4 Aberdeen, red an white plastic bobber! That pole was my rod an reel til he got me a 33 when I was 12. I still brim fish an eat a lot of'em!
