Default 96 Sore lips at BM!!

I caught 96 Crappie on the 9-5 shift today at BM. My day was almost over before it started when my SUV sank into a rut trying to get the boat off the trailer. Luckily it was deep enough to push the boat off and after a little maneuvering I got my little Honda out of the rut without assistance. That little thing never ceases to amaze me. I went to the right of the gravel ramp when putting the boat back on and that went much smoother.

I started out working structure I had found on Google earth and managed to catch a few fish here and there. The wind was horrible so I tried to find a calm shoreline to fish and picked up a few small ringers. Around 1pm I found a huge tree and quickly burned up what was left of 6 dozen minnows. After the minnows were gone I switched to BGBS on 1/16 weedless jig heads and caught em on just about every other cast. Unfortunately this tree was right in the wind and I spent more time maneuvering the boat than fishing but once I got on the spot all I had to do was put the jig in the water and it got thumped:D Most of the crappie were 10-12 inches . I lost a BIG one on one of my long poles. I am going to have to invest in a longer net

Photobucket is down. I will post a few pics when it comes back up.

A local guy told me the Damn already is cracked and they are going to have to close BM again to drain it for repairs and that the ramp would be fixed at that time. Anyone else hear anything like this?

Wow. Wouldn't that be something. If true, lakes closed for 3 years and 8 months, opens up, fishing is awesome, sorry folks, gotta closer her again for who knows how long. lol I sure hope the rumor is not true. If it is I guess it's me and my new Lund at Buggs.

Nice job but dang, couldn't you get 100. :D

Nice work brand new dad! That sure sounds like fun. That CRV's are the cat's meow of light weight 4 wheel drives. My wifes was not fun in the snow, because it would not slip and slide even when being dumb. They work.

How are momma and the kids?

I've used that area you are in with good success. Going back to your rumor of the lake being closed again. The Burnt Mills transfer to Western Branch is closed. As long as it's closed they won't be lowering the lake. I'll keep my eye on it.
