Last week I finally found some success on a lake that I haven’t had much luck on in the past. I figured that I might try to build on that this week again. I started out in the spot that I found the fish last week and they were still there although not quite as active. Water temp was 66 degrees. Air temp was around 60. Things are warming up nicely here lately. This was the first fish of the morning.

I released her after her photo op. Then I caught a few males. Smallest was 12 and the largest was 14.

Things slowed down a little so I grabbed my 10ft jigging rod and tried jigging in the branches of the tree that was in the water. I didn’t find much at first but then I hooked the biggest fish of the morning and managed to work her out of the branches.

I hooked into something else big in there but it immediately snapped me off. I moved on from that spot eventually and tried to explore some other areas. I really didn’t find much. A couple of Bass and this Pumpkinseed that went about 9 inches. I let that one go back.

All in all it was a good morning. Brought a few home again to eat. Going to try to go again maybe at the end of the holiday weekend.

Awesome. Seems you found a good spot. Hope you catch many more there. Love the colors on those.

Nice ones! Glad to see that they grow them big on the western side of Maine like they do on Bee's side to the east.
Happy to read that you were able to squeeze out another trip so soon and had a good time to boot. That's great!

I'll be waiting until after the weekend, too. Might try to go Friday night on some usually quiet water. The weekend looks like good weather around here for the most part and that means the power boaters will be out in force. Me and my little rowboat will let them have their fun.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
