    Lightbulb Lake Gilmer 05-25

Everyone must be out on the lakes this weekend!

I took another trip the lake Gilmer today with a buddy from work. Pretty much the same pattern as earlier this week but the bite was not as hard.

Here is Chris with a couple of nice crappie.

All total we ended up with 13 total and probably caught 20-25. I hooked into a big ole bass that almost ended up taking my pole! What a hoss!

    Default Lake Gilmer ?

Tell me about Lake Gilmer....I went from N. Longview through Gilmer 3 times last week on my way to fish at Bob Sandlin with my uncle.

We never thought of Lake Gilmer

Is it a big lake ? Does it have structure and sand ?

I like to Crappie and Brim fish when I'm home ?

    Regards

Lots of structure. Timber, a small bridge, lots of hydrilla. Sand there is some at the boat launch but if I were guessing it was probably put there to beach boats on. I caught most of mine off of brushpiles away from timber and I also caught some slow trolling by some submerged hydrilla too. If you know how to fish timber well you will love this lake cause it's got a good bunch in it. I have heard good things about the bream on this lake too but have not fished much for them.

    Default Lake Info

Thanks for the come back on Lake Gilmer. We surely will plan to try it when I'm home next fall.

We did real good on Brim at Bob Sandlin week before memorial day.

Just nothin better than Pittsburg Hot links and East Texas fishing.

    Regards
