Question Very Off Topic: Need law info for septic tanks

Me and my fiance are going through the house buying process. Everything was going great until we got to the home inspections and the septic tank came into play. Well, to make a short story long, I was wondering if anybody knew the laws about the old style field lines and having to replace them with the aerobic style sprinklers. Basically the field lines are still passable, I think, but the septic guy we talked to on the phone said that it wouldn't pass because of where it was (location in county), even if it was working fine. Isn't there some sort of "grandfather clause" that allows properly functioning septic tanks from having to be replaced with the new style aerobic? I have searched TX title 30 of the TCEQ, the TNRCC, and other internet search results that deals with this but have no answers yet. HELP!!!!

Make the seller fix it. They are expensive to replace. Call your county agent. He should know who to talk to about the law. Septic people will blow smoke up your pants if you are not taking to the right one. I am not sure you can talk to the right one, in my book. I am 62, have lived on a septic system all my life. I have installed several of them myself. Aerobic is the way to go. Some of the systems work better then others, even if they work on the same principle. I have compared the one I have to three others. The one I have is not the one to buy. I know I have not helped much.
    Good luck
