Talked with a friend that used to fish Lake Alan Henry............but, nobody has been able to launch a boat there for a long time. Some kayak and
canoe fishing and it is good..............but, the lake is super low from lack of rain. Good luck.
I'm moving to lubbock early June from NC. I have my own boat and equip. Are there any good crappie lakes in that area? I think the closest lake is Lake Alan Henry but not too sure. Thanks for the help.

Made it to Lubbock finally. Talked with some locals and they said Allen Henry is full enough to get boats in. Haven't been yet to see for myself. Some of the park lakes here in town are said to have good crappie. Will update when I find them. Anyone know where to get minnows in Lubbock?

Wish I could help, but I live a long way from there and know absolutely nothing about the area. Good luck to you though and I hope you find some good water to fish!
Lake Alan Henry is a good lake to fish. You can buy minnows near the entrance to the lake.
The lake is around 10ft low as of now, but there are no issues with getting a boat in the water. I was in the Lubbock area yesterday and it looked like they had caught some rain...I sure wish White River/Lake Meredith would have gotten some.

UPDATE 4/4/2016:
The lake is now only 3 feet low. In talking to locals that fish it, no one seems to catch any significant numbers of crappie, and the store that sells minnows only orders 4# at a time and sells them by the dozen.
Does anyone know where to buy minnows by the pound in the area?
