    Default \caddo Lake Report 3/25/11

Well the old Redman been out on Caddo again. They are in the trees that is for sure. The big Slabs are down about Three feet deep and are smacking the jigs really hard. At the rate I have been takeing them my freezer will be full in no time.

I have been from South shore to Tar Island even tried out around Buzzard Bay and have caught Slabs about every where there are trees. There are some big Brim starting to show up which leads me to believe that spring is way early this year and this might not last long.

The three jigs I use are a black head and body with a chartruse tail, Electric chicken, and a Slab Bandit Texas toast color( more of the rootbeer with a little white). I find that if I use a smaller jig that I start to catch the bream. Use a larger jig and don't be suprised if you get a nice Largemouth. I will warn you be ready to lose a few jig to the tree roots they for some reason like them as much as the Slabs.

    Good fishing
