    Default Shellcracker Bite

Got a chance to hit my favorite rock pile for a couple hours before dark this evening - the wind had the bite slow , but when it layed down they turned into some bait eating freaks! Mostly males and a couple nice females and mostly reaction strikes i think - i believe they are getting ready to spawn in this small pond the water was boiling around those rocks with them runnin' off the runt gills that like to try to run in and eat the eggs...it'll only get better from here!

Baditude, have you ever been lucky enough to catch a mayfly hatch? The gills will hit anything white after about 2 turns of the reel. Excellent fun. You won't be the same after.

No redears today , but the gills are on fire! Caught around 40 or so in two hours - all nice - but culled most of them - kept 6 jumbos for supper - 3 of each gender , hopefully tomorrow i can pound 'em hard.

I didn't mean to make you feel guilty, I was complimenting you for releasing most of what you caught and only keeping enough for a meal! Good fishing Baditude.
