Default No luck at Priest today

I swear I must have had stink on my hands cause we fished hard for 8hrs on Priest and came home empty handed. Tried stakebeds and points all up and down Stewart's Creek to Hamilton Creek using everything from jigs and minnows to grubs.. nadda I was ready to start throwing the anchor toward the banks in hopes of atleast knocking a carp unconcious long enough to hook him for the feel of reeling something in. haha

    Any suggestions guys?

Crappie bite is on. Find some structure about 10 feet deep. Way back in the no wake cove behind Hong Kong Island and on the shore by the water intake are some places. I also tried the stake beds, no luck in the stake beds.

Minnow or jig under a bobber worked for me.

They were suspended 10 - 12 ft deep this past Sunday, but I was still marking schools of fish in the 12 - 15 ft range tonight off the river channel near some of my prime crappie honey holes.....of course the depth finder doesn't tell you what kind of this they are, but if I had to bet a dollar to a dime, I'd say they were crappie or yellow stripe.

If I go out between now and Friday, it will be strictly for green carp (even they're not close to the bank right now) but I'm planning on trolling for more suspended fish on Sunday.

Everybody keeps saying they're suspended in 12 feet and all, but I nailed them Sunday afternoon in 1.5 to 3 feet of water around fallen trees and stumps up in Spring Creek. The water is warmer up there, so they should be moving into the spawning areas. I was only out there for about 2 hours, but I swear I caught over 15 crappie (only 5 keepers) off of one log in that very shallow water.

I was fishing with two jigs, chart/white and chart/blue jigs, suspended under a bobber to keep the right depth and just retrieving my casts along the shadow-side of the logs.

I have been catching them 12 to 20 feet deep for the last two months around fate sanders. Been catching 30 to 50 each time keeping around 20. I have not even fished shallow this year.

Well its been tough for me this week to catch crappie. I have 7 brush piles which I wade/bank fish, the brush piles are spread out over about 1 mile of shoreline, all in 4-6 feet of water. Today is a classic example of whats been happening to me this week, 2 crappie on 1 brush pile, the rest held nothing. Usually this time of year, I can wear them out and take home a dozen. I'm beginning to wonder where they are and why my areas are not producing.
