I fish it all the time. It seems that there is not many people who are on this board who live in the area. It appears that most are from Douglas/Cherokee, MIddle Tennessee, or Reelfoot. I live in Lenoir City.
I have been in the Madisonville area for a short time. I have noticed that there is not much about Tellico on this forum. Is it because not many fishermen on this forum live close by or is it because the fishing is not all that great

I live in knoxville and have fished it one time. My friend Max fishes it a lot, but he is a bass fisherman. I hear there are some good crappie and even better suager. I just have never worried about fishing it because douglas is also close and I have always caught quality crappie there. I am sure I will fish it more in the future. I actually thought a bout sauger fishing there one night next week.
I have fished with a friend who loves saugar fishing. He mostly fishes up river from Staleys there in Lenoir City. As a matter of fact he has limited out 3 times in the last 2 weks. I have caught some crappie at Tellico but not many measure. Maybe I am just in the wrong place.
We catch a lot of keepers all over the lake. WHere are you fishing?
I fish Tellico quite often, but not during the winter....toooo cold for me. I've prepared all my gear and I'm ready to go when it warms up a little. I normally catch 40-50 specks but about half of them don't meaure. I use jigs first and add or switch to minnows as needed. I posted a thread the other day about information on Tellico, but nobody replied. I'm just trying to get a handle on their migration route...I haven't been fishing for over 2 months, but I'll guess the specks are still in "winter" pattern, but should be heading into pre-spawn mode real soon.
