I fished there until the mid '80's and caught hundreds this time of year. You could go up the river and see crappie being chopped by your motor prop.:D It all depends on the lake level. When you get down to about 944 you are looking to staying in the river channel that is on the left side of the lake and then at Nina creek it turns more towards the center until you get to "Dutch Bottoms where it is on the left side again until about Walters Bridge. You have large mud flats on both sides of the river except where you see the steep banks and that indicates the channel. Mostly, however, the water is "wet" above the bridge.:D
