The fishing has certainly gotten better. Bait is everywhere in the back waters

There was a little flounder from the freezer to stretch it some. Made sure I had leftovers for lunch

Good to see you get out there and get you some nice fish. Wasn’t that long ago it was sweltering heat and too hot to get out.
Maybe they will bite this one……

No doubts about that. I don't much care for the heat.

Very good fishing. I have those Itty Bitty slab hunters in a few colors. Should work on bluegills as well as the crappie. I really haven’t started to fish for crappie in the fall yet. I will, the good Lord willing.

To me they look like a grass shrimp in the water. Had a small gill pull the tail off on. I found them in stock at Bass Pro and bought some of the productive colors. Worked way better than I anticipated

Nice report DSJ. I have only fished with ityy bitty slab hunter once, but so far it seems like it's going to be a great bait.

I am pretty impressed with my first outing using them. The partern with Baby Shad baits would be one or two fish than they would turn off and bite on another color. They hammered that little slab hunter in blue ice every time I threw it under there. I tossed that Purple mist Baby Shad under and it was good for 2 fish. 10 more cast no takers. Back to the Little slab hunter and they were back to hammering it

The purple mist looks a lot like the albino Shad color with that blue looking flake added. Try sunrise Bobby garland baby Shad’s. They are working for me at the moment.
