No cracker, I live in Finley. And yes let me know how it goes. Matter of fact if you could stand another man then send me an invite. Ill more than pay my way. I dont have alot of fishin buddies as it is, much less getting them out there at night.

If nothing else. Let me know when yall are going and I might get out that night too and try a different spot. We can compare notes and whatnot. I really think we can pull some slabs out doin a little night fishing.

P.S. When you going this week? We should trade numbers and help each other out. I am always looking for new fishin buddies to compare notes with and find some fish. It is by far the best way to catch fish, and minimize time trying to locate them.

We are thinking about going sometime next month. You ever yo yo fish.?
I think there are about 6 of us trying to schedule it so a few more shouldn't be any trouble. I figured everyone could get one of those cheap floating light and have several out and string them all on one boat.

I wish I knew someone that had a patch of bamboo. I thought it might be easy to attach it to a boat and string up lights down the length of the bamboo.

yea i love to yo-yo. Nothing like a night when the catfish are biting and hearing them yo-yo's go off one right after another.

I have one of those really big green submersable lights. I payed like 150 or 200 bucks for it. Its like 4 ft long. Puts out alot of glow. It does take some rigging to get set up and do it right. I just think its a great way to beat the heat in the summer and have a little fun.

You just let me know. When it comes to fishing, just about everything else takes a back seat. Luckily I work from home mostly. And when i do go to work im flexible. Anyway, get at me. Id like to give you a shout friday or saturday if your gonna be on the lake. Way the weather is shaping up I might be out there Sunday too.

    Default Night-time fishing...

    Gang,

I have tried the nite fishing thing at the 'Foot. Do pretty good out from Green Island and Swan. Mosquitoes are a pest though...don't normally have to worry about the snakes out there. The biggest deal is the oxygen content in the water...thermocline. If we are in a long dry spell the line will be much lower and the fishing is not as good. Can't say that the light works any better than just working the deep stump flats. I would be up for a trip though. Let me know.

    BTW...who is bringing the Cope??:D

Hey guys I am going to do some night fishing next week. I have a large light that I can adjust with weight to set up under the water around 1-2 feet. It will attract all kinds of bait fish. I have done it a lot in the past and had great success! you'd be suprised at what will swin by ......sometimes it will scare ya!

David let us know how it go's....I'm ready to try it.

Do you tight line or bobber? I bought some glow paint that supposed to last for 6 hours, so I was thinking about dipping my rod tips in it.

Finally some promising banter about this topic. The more I think about it the more I want to do it. I think out from green island point and swan basin are great places to try. I know we all know some good stump rows out the where the fish should have to have far to travel to get to our lines.

As soon as one of you guys is ready let me know. I know I have probably the biggest light.

I think painting the tips is a good idea. Enough light and the tips glowing should be perfect. Last year we did both, tight lined and bought those glow bobbers. I didnt seem to like the bobbers, but then again we never caught any fish.

try useing 1.5" glow sticks attach them to your bobber's stem with a rubber band, can get them at most tackle shops or ebay sells them 100ea for 12.99, cheaper than the batt operated floats

    Cracker,
I tight line when I'm night fishing. I also have a black light I stick to the side of my boat that works quite well for watching the line. Either will work when night fishing. My best success is pull up to a large sunken tree you don't have to wait long the bait fish will show up real fast then the bigger fish on and on. My light is a mounted in the top of a 5 gallon clear plastic jug with a coat hanger shaped in the bottom with about 16 one ounce egg slip sinkers on it so I can control the depth of where I want the light.
