Good day under these conditions! Heavy current and muddy water.....at least you proved they can be caught.
Not many fish were caught by me or Dr Phil. We launched from the Wolftever creek ramp at 8 am and it was so nice outside that we fished until 1 pm. We struggled to put fish in the boat, but we did managed to catch 8 fish but only two keeper crappie and one spotted bass.
Water temp was 46.8 when we started and tva was spillIng about 100,000 cfs so the current in the river was very strong, so we stayed out of the river mostly. Our fish came in some eddy water near the main channel and the keeper crappie came from one dock.
Strike King Slabalicious lures in black/blue with Chartreuse tail was best lure. We fished them on 1/16 oz lures. This is the first time that I have fished this lure and I do like the looks of it.
Old man winter arriving next week so I guess this is it for me for a week or so. I’m longing for the day that tva stops spilling water through all the flood gates on the entire system. I have never seen a fall and winter like this one before.

Sounds like you found some warmer water than what I fished today. I was after the wrong species anyway. I think Deb and I are going to squeeze in a crappie trip tomorrow. Thanks for the report.

Yep, the bite was tough today but it was a nice day to be on the water.

Nice catch, two keepers are better than none. Our lakes up here have almost returned to normal winter pool so the flow should lessen some in the coming weeks. Batten down the hatches, bad weather is forecast for mid week. As for the small ones, they will good keepers next year!

A few fish are always better than none.
On the bright side, no mosquitos are out.

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
