Crappie Wall Hanger
Big Sandy Area Help Needed
I fished Bid Sandy last week 3 times and caught lots and lots of 9" fish longlining. I managed to catch about 10 keepers each trip but it was 1 keeper for each 10 of the 9" crappie. Anyone doing the same or better? Sure would like to figure out of to get the bigger crappie. Any hints would be appreciated. Fished mostly in West Sandy and some in Swamp Creek.

I think 75% of the fisherman out there right now are reporting the same thing. Saturday I caught 16 keepers but through back 60+. Sunday was totally different as I caught my limit and didnt throw back but 15 or so. They just happened to grow up. Same stake beds and everything. Everybody ive talked to has said the same thing. There are school of bigger ones and schools of smaller ones. Just got to hope you find the stake bed with the big ones.

I am catching about 50/50% keepers to shorts, but like he said above I prolly caught 75/25% keepers to shorts on Sunday. The bigger fish our close bye to the shorts you just have to move a little to find them. Could be in deeper or shallower water than the shorts. or in the same water but at a different stage of the water column. If your long lining try couple different jig head sizes and speeds to eliminate the whole column of water you are in before moving to another depth. you will eventually find them.
