    Default douglas

I need some help locating the crappie on Douglas. I don't have a boat yet working on it. I need a place where I can fish from the bank that is easy to find & easy to get too. Any help that anyone can give is well appricated. Just too update they have been catching them on Ft. Loudon George's Creek but the only thing I caught was a cold & froze my butt off.

    Thumbs up

...try the Millican grove access area to Flat Creek...go down Allensville Road off hwy 66 to the very end...go thru the TWRA access gate and drive up to the top of saddle dam #9...drive across the dam to the end...look carefully and you will see trails leading to the banks along the right side of the cove...if you can get out far enough, fish the banks, throwing out into the small channel which winds its way from the main lake up towards the saddle dam...if the water's too low, try to make your way along the banks out to the entrance of the cove and fish the main channel which runs along the base of the rocky bluffs....chartrues curly-tailed grubs work well...hope this helps...P.S. any bank access along Flat Creek this time of year should be good....

    Bushrod:

You da man!!! Thanks..googled that spot and can see clearly
what you are talking about. I hope to see you there sometime
in April when I get back to TN. So far...for me, crappie fishing
in south central FL hasn't been up to TN standards. Thanks again!

no problem if they aren't biting there then try i.c.king park there are 2 entrances the first one has the gate closed but you can walk down the lane it'll take you too a cove close too the road then if you follow the lane back it'll take you too a point & another little cove. we didn't catch anything there the day we went but it was cold & froze over. the second entrance has a pier that i fish from regularly there are brush pile all around the pier don't know if anyone put any new ones out this year or not. then if you walk back too where they park boat trailers in the corner it's pretty good. took a 5 1/2lb lm last year out of there it's not very deep fish about a foot too foot & a half deep. just don't park where they park trailers unless you have one cause they' ll ticket you. haven't fished anywhere but there but there's trails that take you all around it.
