    Default Offshore Tackle Tadpole

Anybody use the Offshore Tackle Tadpole weights for long line trolling or behind planer boards. I bought some recently but haven't tried them yet. They should allow for less line out to achieve the desired trolling depth.

They work real good. They work with or without planer boards. It's a cool mechanism, it planes deep, but if there's a fish on it or even weeds, the snap/swivel on the Tadpole changes position and it does not plane anymore. Take the weeds off, or the fish off, put it back in the water, and it resets automatically. They have some great video's o their site. Check them out:

It's great cause you don't have to let out 150 ft of line to get the bait down. I've used them successfully with double jig rigs and crank baits.
