I seldom see the boys in green out on the water up here in E TN. See 'em more on TV.
Just got back from lake caught a few crappie and one bass.
When I was getting ready to load TWRA pulled up. They measured all
my fish which were all legal size limit, but did not check me for my
license and boat reg, which I thought was unusual. I guess I was
due since this was my first to be checked there in over 25 yrs

GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Guess I just got lucky. I just eyeballed them on length. Will start using
tape from now on just to be sure.
Same thing happened to me on priest a couple trips back. When they asked to measure all my fish they never asked me or checked for my license or any paperwork. They told me they were just doing a survey of how many fish and of what size people were taking out during the day. They did however warn me that i might get a follow up visit where they were checking everything else so they might have just been doing the same thing.
Just a creel survey. To see what is being caught and who is on the water how long and how successful. I gave gotten good info from them on what is going on.
The guys that does the creel survey up there has been there for some time. See him most every year running around checking fish. Real nice guy and is quick to give tips on where the fish are and how he has heard they are being taken.
Have fished from shore there and was checked for fish but not license. He was taking a survey of how we liked the lake and would we be back soon. Real nice guy. Lynn and I both thought it was odd at the time. In twenty years of fishing in TN have never had that happen anywhere else.
Al B. is a great guy. They have done a great job protecting the fishery. Also the fishermen have followed the rules which is why we have had a super year so far on PP and Old Hickory.
A big ol THANKS to all that did their part.-------- MidTin

I was stopped by a TWRA guy a couple years ago but just to take a survey of how much $$ I spent on each fishing trip, how far I traveled to fish, etc., did not check any paperwork, just asked survey questions. He was a nice guy, we chatted for several minutes after the survey was done.

I was on JPP on the 31st as well and was checked by the creel clerk. I usually get checked by him at least once each summer. He even joked about not passing any short fish over to him for measurement. I assured him that we didn't have any short fish on the boat. The interesting thing to me was that we caught 14 crappie trolling crank baits and all of the crappie were legal size, no short fish were caught. It is unusual not to have at least a few short fish on a trip out there that have to be released.
