Default That time of year, ticks and snakes

Just wanted to remind everyone to be careful, it's that time again. I went and scouted a new spot the other day, a piece of property on the lake that is for sale, I called the realtor and got permission. When I got back home I had 3 ticks crawling up my legs. I've also seen a snake on each of my last three trips, it's still pretty cool out so I walked right up on them without them running off. I nearly put my hand right on one of them while climbing around on the rocks below the dam. I know they aren't poisonous unless they are copperheads, and I actually like snakes, but still a water snake can draw blood pretty good and their little needle teeth can break off in your skin and hurt for quite a while and get infected. Ask me how I know, I don't try to catch them on purpose any more! Anyway just a reminder, use bug spray around your ankles and if it's real bad tuck your pant legs into your socks. Looks real stylish, too.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

I turkey hunt a lot. I treat my clothes with cattle delice. That stuff is good for 8 washings and I DO NOT get ticks or chiggers. I still occasionally run across a snake though!
