Just got back from the great state of Tennessee. Had a great time. Good food and people. Got there on Sunday the 21st. First time out on the lake, windy, didn't catch anything. Monday hired Hunter out of Eagle Nest. Nice young man. Caught 35. Still windy. Tuesday my buddy and I caught 48 fish with 5 or 6 being big bream. The weather cooled down Wed. but we still caught about a dozen late that evening. One 15 inch.We left that Thursday and went to Kentucky Lake but never fished due to weather.Caught our fish about 18 to 24 inches of water next to cypress trees and in the grass. I caught most of mine on pink 32nd ounce head with blue grass baby shad by B Garland. My buddy used white jig. Had a good many fish in the 12 to 15 inch range. Bream up to 9.25 inches.
That's what I call a report! Thank you. Glad y'all caught some fish and a swelly belly too.
Crappie are snobby..... Why can't they be easy to catch...Like bass?
Well we came, we fished, we caught, but no great numbers. Didn't meet anyone from CDC there, but made some great new friends, and learned a ton in the process too. Fishing was tough for us since it was our first time down to the Foot, but we did manage to average over 10lbs for our best 7 each day we fished. I just wish we would of fished the Crappie Master's tourney now after seeing the winning weights, but I wasn't confident that our weight would of been good enough to place beforehand. Maybe next time we come down, we will give it a run. We brought home several fish frys of fillets, got some awesome wildlife photo's, and made some great new friends too. Life is good! One of our new friend's goes by Bumble Bee. We both have Bumble Bee boats! It was a first for both of us to see someone else with the same kind of boat, and so our friendship began. Larry was a wonderful host to Lisa and I. So if you see 'ol Bumble Bee out on the Foot by chance, say hi to him. He's a great guy!
Big bites, full baskets, and God's blessings to ya's!
