i can see how it could happen.......
Neighbor (in campground) claims he watched it sink. Boat hit a stump, backed-off, and went down. A nearby boat hauled-in the sunken boats operator, not sure if there was anyone else in the boat or not. I was on the water when it happened, but I don't pay attention to other boats, or those revving to get off a stump.
Can anyone confirm?

Can only imagine how many have sunk on that lake since it was formed. I'm betting the numbers would be pretty staggering.
I've talked to a couple guys who say they visit RF often, and they say there's several boats on the bottom, as well as a Volkswagon that went through the ice.

Talked to another guy who confirmed, according to him it was a couple younger guys in a rental boat.

I have had my boat full of water a few times, and 3 years ago in November fell into the lake in full Winter gear (Bibs, inner and outer coat, boots, etc. In about9/10ft of water. I was standing on the deck navigating stumps when one tapped the rear of the boat I lost my balance. I struggled to get back to the surface and had I been alone I probably would have drowned. It shook me up enough to go from jigging stumps every day, to hanging it till spring. It can be, and has been historicaly, a dangerous lake. I also left a 15 horse 1982 model johnson right smack in the middle of the lake out from Caney in 2005. Ripped it right off the back of my boat in 16ft water. Old girl was still running strong as it went under :-)
The only time I have ever been in a boat full of water and about to sink was on Sardis Res. in Ms. Happen twice two years in a row during bass tournaments. I have sworn off that lake. A little wind turns that place nasty. Lost my sea legs due to a back injury 12 years ago and fell out of the boat (21ft Stratos) twice in 30 minutes into 45 degree water at Indian Creek on Pickwick shortly after getting hurt. Came home and sold all three boats I owned at the time within two weeks of that incident. Never thought i would be able to fish again and didn't until I finally got my sea legs back in 2010 and am back at it again!!!
Another boat sinking does not surprise me.
