Default Size of crappie on Old Hickory this year

Fish almost everyday on Old Hickory in Cedar Creek. Mostly brush tops in 10'-18', tight lining jigs. Bite has been good as well as good numbers. Size, however, is the smallest I can remember. Caught 32 on Wed, only 4 keepers. Most 8-9" with a few 9.5". It has been this way all year for me. Have heard of other folks doing well with large fish up/down the lake.

Would love to hear from other folks fishing Old Hickory with regard to size & numbers! Maybe just the areas I am fishing or the way I fish? Don't know!!

Fished small cove before the rains, temp near 70, caught several, only 2 keepers. I've tried em shallow/deep same result. Guess we'll have a good fall & winter based on the numbers of 9-9.5" ers!

    Good luck on Priest!!

Small fish usually go shallow before the big ones.

Can't speak for old hickory but the bite has been good on the south end of preist. Fished a week ago tuesday and got 17, then thursday we got 22 and today we had around 20. Had to throw back a lot of shorts, but that just means next years fishing should be good.
