I would trade for a cat!! I love catching the Gills too.

Was down at reelfoot April 9 - 12. The 9th and 10th had 15 - 30 crappie per boat. Mainly fishing trees in Kirby pocket 4 - 6'. Seemed like we picked up an equal amount letting the jig troll between trees. Most were females.
Found an area with less wind. Water so clear it appeared black. Caught several black crappie all males and very aggressive and in the slower part of the day (11 - 4). We would catch 2-3 per good tree. Which at reelfoot is a school of fish. Even some were in the brush. Rain knocked out most of Monday. Left on the 12th, so unsure how cold front affected fishing. Good Luck!

If temp is up it was 83-86 when we all went down first week of April ....the northside of the lake is the most shallow ( heats up first )....Island Open at the base of the v where the two little streams come together ( guides got attractors there ) ...also Kirby's Pocket ( got a big fake crappie out front bout 20 feet long - cant miss it the clump of trees to you right when you put in ...-look for duck blind is a good Spot -- most big slab type fish are on Green Island water is rough when I was out there but, if its like glass theres a hole ( 17ft ) look for it there in there its bout 4- feet wide .

Hope this helps ....Hollah at Clayton and his dad Bo at Bo's Landing they'll put you on fish ......and what the hitting on ..tubes he recommended was the

blue silver specks- also brown /chartrues- tennesse orange ----1/8 oz led head

or 1/2 reelfoot double rigs for green island point and move slow -boat length at a time worked for meThumbs Up
