    Default Reelfoot Upper Blue Basin

WOuld the upper blue basin be any good for crappie at the end of Feb??

    Thanks-Tim
I pray that I may live to fish....... Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep.

Normally, yes. This year, only time will tell.

I took it for the team and went to the north end on Saturday to scout out the fishing. Normally at this time of the year I would be fishing there at least once a week. This was my first trip this season.
The Good News: The new ramp at the Air Park is in excellent shape. I launched my boat and went through the minefield with my TM. Did not touch a stump. I went north of the ramp and spider rigged with minnows in the open basin, through the stumps, and around the stumps. I fished about 1.5 hours with ZERO strikes. Conditions were perfect. Its the right time of the year and I will go back, but I was not encouraged.

    My two cents.

I agree Lynn. I've been getting our stuff ready for Ky Lake. However, I'm really giving some thought to going to Ms before too long. I was at mom and dad's gettin the boats organized and puttin the new stuff I bought this weekend at Grizzly together, and I seen their neighbor cleaning some fish, so I had to go get the scoop. He had been to Sardis this past weekend, and caught 40 something, and they had atleast a dozen that was 2+. Boy that gave me the fever.

I moved to Barkley Lake about three years ago. For the month of January I have kept over 200 ten inch crappie, not to mention the short fish. However, I miss fishing the "Foot" and would perfer fishing it over KY and Barkley. Grass is always greener on the other side, I guess.
