    Default Some Reelfoot Help

We are heading down to Reelfoot next Thursday and I'm looking for some guidance on the boat channels. This will be our 20th trip down over the last 10yrs and we've noticed/used some of the boat channels being marked with PVC or rebar, but it sounds like the water is extremely low again this year and I'm wondering if there is a map out there that will show the areas to run to get to the deeper water easier with the low water or any water level. Last time we were there when the water was ~24" below pool it wasn't much fun in the resort boats getting high centered on a stump and spending a ton of time trying to get off of one to end up getting stuck on another 20 yards later. Any help would be appreciated!

no map, only one boat channel that matters now but it's very to hard find and navigate, the lake is lower than its been in decades, however, the fish are everywhere, bring a push pole, shove yourself out into the closest stumps and start vertical jiggin, i posted pics on the main forum of the last two weekends, its a great time to fish, just dont crank your outboard, troll only, unless you can follow someone else.

Put it at the spill way ramp and you should have no problems. Crank the outboard and take it easy, just don't let off the gas if you get on a stump, you will slide over it. I have a 17 foot boat and I just rode over the tops of a few. Just don't stop never let up on the gas. You will be fine.

Thanks guys. We will see how it goes. We'll be there starting early Thursday morning thru the weekend and I'll try to post some updates throughout our time on the water to let you know how we are doing.

I heard they where digging out the ramps this week. I went to the spill way ramp, its a deep ramp.

I've heard that if you want to fish reelfoot you better bring you own boat. All the rental boats are on dry ground

I talked them on Thursday and they were cleaning out three of the ramps. One of them was old Lovell's ramp and two other ramps but he did not say which ones.

dang cant believe they are clearing out ramps. Nobody tells me anything :D

kingkrappie - Cracker means the ramp that goes directly into the spillway. Funny, I never thought of using it with the low water but its a smart move!
