Will you be mounting the bases in a wooden deck floor, or in an aluminum cross seat?

My boat is a Lowe 175w. Im gonna have to put a base on both sides of the storage and one in front for fishing solo. Deck is aluminum, guy at grizly jig told me not to put it on the storage door so I aint gonna. (good thing I asked)
the plates will go on top of carpet if possible. Im kinda timid when it comes to cuttin holes in my boat. My wife fishes with me bout all the time in the spring, so I gotta do it right

When mounting on a deck, the most important thing is to use really good quality toggle style anchor bolts. Don't try any form of screw, as they usually end up pulling loose from the deck.
The only concern will be locating the support ribs which are located under the deck. I would imagine that you would not want to drill or cut through those. You may be able to locate something on Lowe's website which will give you an idea of which direction the ribs run, and how far they are spaced apart.

There is a two seat rack you sit on your deck and mount your seats on it.
Just search for it on the internet, i don't know what it's called.
Good Luck-- MT

If you are going to fish alone in the front and you cannot reach your rods they make a crooked seat pedistal that allows you to use your exsisting seat pin but you can get 4 inches closer. Thats what I have .

Aluminum Base Plates
If you are going to cut a 4 inch hole in your boat you should weld the bases to the deck. You cannot take the bases out and move them around and temporary ones are not nessecarily as safe as permanent bases. It may be a little more expensive, but it will last longer, be more sturdy over time, and not to mention safer.
