I still prefer Cook's BBQ. I think they would get more recognition if they weren't so far off the beaten path. A lot of people don't even know they are there.

Thanks rango, haven't been back down that way camping but would like to try another nightstalking trip. Sounds like some hot action on the white perch.

Doug started the original Cook's but someone else owns it now, he has Backcountry. Both are good!

Bump for posterity and some fine dining...

Smokehouse in Jefferson, SC right off the hwy. Buffet style, put a hurtin' on your belly but not your wallet, good eating. Their BBQ could stand on it's own, but they also have all the deep fried country cooking your arteries can handle.
    John 21:3
Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.

For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin

hudson's in lexington, sc is good but the 5 racks of ribs that i did on my ORION cooker for the superbowl were about as good as it gets. we had to eat popcorn with them to keep from strangling because they were so wet and juicy tender. LOL LOL this cooker is the bomb. i have used a lot of cookers and have several different kinds but this one does everything that it says it does and more. especially the ribs and also turkeys.
