    Default Boat Repair

Took the boat in for repairs today. Problem was she's smoking ALOT at low idling speeds and using WAY too much oil from the oil tank. Never wanted oil injection in the first place but now I dont have it anymore. I think it is called a VRO oil pump?!? Anyway, it's putting 5 or 6 times (or more) the oil into the gas than it's supposed to and a new pump was gonna cost me $300 plus labor. Fixed it for free though. Now it's back to mixing gas and oil again, like the old days. Boat's fixed & Amy's softball is over until this fall so maybe I can get a little more fishing in before the summer heat gets bad. Anybody know where the crappie are biting at on Lake Russell?!?

Thank god it was still oiling. A fellow in Vanna told me his stoped oiling and he blew his motor up. Glad to see you'll be back on the water again. Now you can tell me some spots.:D

Yea Rango. I havent been able to get on the boards for quite a while but for the few times I did it it seems youre right. I think he is fishing about every night and hiding out the slabs he's catching in a basket so he can cull out the biggest 5 come crappiefest Saturday nite. If things work out right I might get a chance to get down that way Saturday night and pay my $10 to watch him weigh 'em in.

i suspect the only time youll ever see a 3 pounder is when your scales is off by two pounds :D

As soon as you find some scales that'll weigh like that, I want a set, and I'll throw mine away...they're too darn accurate!:D

Gabow, that was the BEST move you could have ever made by removing the oil inenjection. My 150's went bad ,blew the Motor. I switched it to mixing myself, even add a lil extra , I figure plugs are cheaper than a engine .... I few years ago we had a Tournament at Wylie , that friday durig pratice it was sleeting on us while we drove up 77 ,then rained while we were @ BB Bridge, it stoped so we got dressed in our cold weather gear , un tarped the boat ( My Partners 175 this time ) we had just gotten it un covered when its started snowing so hard & so big you could hardy see the lake, that lasted about an hour , with about 2 inches of snow in the boat we headed to catawba creek , about 300 yards before the creek his boat shut down, well we were at where we wanted to start so we just put the trollers out , anyway, it started back up when it was time to leave , but did not last more than the time it took to get us on plane...we trolled back to BB & put her on the trailer, pulled the plugs & they had aluminum melted to the plugs !!!! it was 2 other teams that blew up oil injection motor that weekend that fished with us, I still say it was so cold that it wasnt enough oil getting to the engine ...sorrry for going on & on, but I hate Oil Injection PAST the engine's Warranty anyway
