For small motors I don't think they make a one piece, the Doel-fin will cost around $30

I've already made him a good offer on his boat but he won't get off his billfold and go buy that G3 he wants. If he would hurry up I wouldn't have to worry about the stupid hydrofoil.

He is going to the beach in a couple of weeks just let me know we can swap boats. I dont think he could catch fish anymore anyway I think his pony tail would scare them away!

Most everyone here and on the main board seems to agree I should install one but what about the brand? Doel-fin, SE, or Stingray? I was thinking Stingray or SE simply because the Doel-fin is 2 pieces and it seems like it would be harder to get right when I mount it. Any suggestions?
I would take a look at trim tabs first. Don't know about cost difference but they are designed specifically for the problem you are having. The hydrofoil is designed for prop efficiency first then some trim improvement.

These are far superior to any doel type fin made http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...tabs&noImage=0
Usually problems can be solved by making sure the boat is loaded evenly and even more important make sure the anti-cavitation plate on the motor is even with the bottom of the hull. At least within 1 inch of it.

I was looking at these for my 17' Ebbtide with 175 mercruiser.

This boat is a beast to plane. Anyone used/using one of these?
