    Default Keowee hawg

Did a Keowee solo trip last night. Got a late start it was dark when I got to the lake, but I promised myself I was going so I went. It seemed liked everything was going wrong, got a late start, the BP on hyw 11 counted every minnow one by one which I guess it is what I paid for, but the kid took 10 minutes counting them, the linkage on my boat screwed up would not go into reverse, etc. Anyway finnally got set up around 9:30 in the somewhat place I wanted to set up. I set up at the mouth of Little river (stamp creek,Keowee) where it feeds the main lake in 35' water temp 65. Ended up a good night no other boats clear night very little moon, I kept 12 threw back several I'm sure I missed several being that I was by myself. But the main thing I caught my personal best last night 2 pounds 13 oz biggest I've seen. So all in all a good night, needed some r&r anyway. Had to keep a couple of Kamakazes why do the small ones engulf the hooks and I just lip the bigger ones? I use #2 hooks thinking of moving to a larger hook.

That is a hawg!! Sounds like it was worth it. With that water temp being 65, I can't wait to head back out there.

    Default a good night

Yes it was a good night and I weighed the fish as soon as I caught it and weighed it again this morning when I took the pic and it weighed exactly the same, just curious if the weight changed after sitting on ice. Might get to go again this weekend hopefully I'll be a little more prepared for a night out.

Great fish! Congrats on the catch, wish my bad nights on the water ended with a slab like that!

Nice pic of the barley pop. Fish look good too.
