Thread: Drift socks

How are they biting at the hill? I'm off next week thinking about going down for a couple days and fish up the little river area around Long cane creek I believe thats the name of that creek is what the water temp?

i carry 4 of em on the beast, and i use em for crappie, catfish and striper fishing. theres nothing like em when the wind gets up and the troller has lost its effect, thats for certain

We did real well in the area where we were at. The water temps were around 60 to 62. You might have to choose a different area to fish with the lake still over 9 ft low the ramps on longcane and little river are still way out of the water. You probably can get a boat in down around Bakers creek state park. Be very careful ,the upper half of long cane and little river is completley dry.

I have been trolling for around 10 years , most of that time was spent fishing tournaments over thesouth east, I remember the 1st time I ever saw a drift sock in use was on High Rock in NC, the boat that was useing a sock & our boat put lines out about the same time, I was only useing the trolling moter to keep us stright, the other boat with a drift sock was only a 1/4 way into the neck when we were at the back ^ empty handed. I told my partner that day , If we intended to keep on fishing tournaments, we would have to get us one of those things !!We have only won at least 2 of the Major Tournaments we have won, the wind was blowing over 20 MPH .one of those was at Santee where it looked like a Ocean !! If there is ANYBODY else out there that trolls & dont have a drift sock, well, unless you only fish on days when teh wind doesnt blow, you NEED a drift sock BAD !! They not only slow the boat but they also help keep it stright as well

about a drift sock i have a toon do you put the sock in the back of the boat or do you drift side ways ive been think of getting one and reading this i think i might get you this week any type that i need to get thanks for any come back
