    Default Wylie today/Saturday 2/26

got on the Lake about 7:00 which is a little late for me.

Headed North and went to that bridge that is in NC...on the left as you are heading up river...Nadda..nothing.

Moved a little further up north and found a creek off to the right and past the power plant.

Put out six rods with various color jigs all tipped with minnows..trolling at .9.

Got three large mouth that were about 1 1/2 pounds.....

I caught two crappie all day, and another got off at the boat..(did not have my net).

BUT, BUT....the two crappie I got in the boat are hogs....one weighed just over two lbs and the big boy weighed in at 3 1/2 lbs...fat suckers both of em.

If I am ever to catch only two crappie all day, these are the suckers that I want.....I am happy...

Over the next couple of days I will try to put some pics on here...not sure how to do it. I weighed them on my boga grip and I am gonna try to find something else to weigh em with to be sure...biggest fish was 15 inches but its belly was really full...I will clean em tomorrow and see what wasin the belly.

    My buggest ever, Yipee

DCM--I'm a little skeptical that a 15" fish weighed 3 1/2 lbs. If it's true, then don't you dare eat it--have it mounted.

Kunes, you are right...I weighed the fish again...I was reading the Boga incorrectly... 2 1/2 lbs not 3 1/2.

LOL...I am not a lying fisherman...may have had to much PIWO when I weighed the fish...PIWO roughly translated is Polish for beer.

Any way they gonna be good tonight with fried, corn bread and cole slaw and a little more PIWO.

    2 1/2 is still a hell of a crappie.

I talked to several guys who had been down there and they told me the stripers wasnt doin nothing. in light of the fact the last three trips down has been dry and the cost involved in going down there, i figgered we wait a little longer before we went down.
