Crappie will overpopulate a pond pretty quickly as well. Seems like you would have to get the bream population in check before your crappie could do well
How many crappie do you need to start stocking a pond? Also how long before they start to populate? Have a pond that is overloaded with small bream and a couple decent largemouth was thinking about putting some crappie in it.

Get you a few 20# bluecats in there. That will take care of the bream problem. If the pond is small it's not recommended to stock with crappie as they will overpopulate and theyre size will be stunted to hand size only.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
I have read of a sterile crappie that is meant to be stocked in ponds. Those blues would certainly take care of those bream

What size is your pond? Crappie in small ponds can be tricky but can be managed. I used to fish 2 ponds locally that had stunted crappie. After taking a few buckets of crappie out, the size improved. I have a 1/2 acre pond that already had bass and bream and over time I put about 50 crappie from the lakes/local ponds. If you take a bucketful out a couple times a year you should be fine. Just my opinion, I'd have a good bass population to help eat the newly hatched crappie.
If your local feed store has delivery the seller can give you firsthand info on how to balance the population. I know a fellow that buys minnows and dumps them in to help keep the food source in balance. He also doesn't allow anyone older than 12 to fish it. Good luck!
