Darn I’d still be telling everyone I caught a 44 lb crappie…..
I had some scales on the boat in case I happen to catch a big one. Caught one couple weeks ago I thought might be close to 2 pound. Got the scales zeroed and clipped the fish on!! 44 pounds on a 15 pound scale. Came home installed new batteries, weighted a 2 pound bag of House Autry, wow 44 pounds. Emailed Rapala hoping for suggestions on how to calibrate. They instructed me to ship it in, didn’t know how long I had it and no receipt. Didn’t expect them to do anything since I had no receipt. Shipped it on 3/07 and received new scale 3/17. WOW, in the email they said they cared about their customers. Definitely wasn’t lip service. Just had to share my experience. Checked the accuracy with 2 lb bag of House Autry and 2 lb bag of cornmeal. Both weighted 2.05. Close enough for me. Now all I need is a Biggun to weigh.

isn’t 2 lb equal to 4.4 kg?
perhaps you had the scale set to metric
4.4 kg = 9.68 lbs.
You made me look. Ha!

Everything I weighted went to 44, I could see a broken yellow wire from the battery compartment.
