6lb test Vicious Panfish Hi-Vis !!! IMO is the best for the type fishing I do which is Longlining !!!
Kind of curious. Can you tell me what pound test line you like to use for crappie fishing and why do you use that pound test?

Im running an 8lb Hi-Vis braided line when Im single poling in timber. It has less stretch than mono and I think the bite is felt easier. Also, when hung up I have been able to retrieve my hook more time than not using the braid over the mono. Trolling or casting I go with a 4 or 6lb Hi-Vis mono line. Just my preference.

I just cast jigs, so I use 2-4# line.
Thinner line casts farther and sinks faster and is strong enough to land any crappie.

IMO for casting, fishing bridge columns and shooting docks 4#
Berkley Nanofil line because it will make longer cast. Comes in 2 lb or larger also.
For 12 footer rod vertical jigging 20# braid and florucarbon leader is sensitive and strong enough to straighten out lightwire hooks in structure.
For longlining 6# Pline or 6# Suffix or Nanofil and just about any mono line will work.
For spider rigging l have went to 20# florucarbon Seaguar or Berkley line is invisible and strong enough to straighten out lightwire hooks hung up in structure.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
6 lb P line, I think its stronger and doesn't kink as much as others, less memory

6lb high vis mr crappie for longline and spider rig bc that seemed all around accepted test for longline. Tie my rigs with 4lb so break a hook instead of my main line. 10lb equivalent braid for cranks bc that’s size for the precision app and bend hook instead of lose a crank

6# spider wire. Works well for jigging crappie and walleye.
#6 lb Vicious hi-viz for longlinjng, shooting docks, and 2-4# Vicious hi-viz for vertical jigging and casting.

4#.
I've tried 3# trout leader and 2#. They're too difficult to manage in windy conditions. I like wally Marshall hi vis, but the last spool I got was bad.
