Basically on the shores of lake Hartwell. 45 to 90 miles from Lake Russell and upper reaches of Clark’s Hill. My fishing buddy Stanley lives in Sandy Springs....but don’t let that stop you! LOL
Considering a job in Sandy Springs.
Any good crappie fishing in that area?
Thanks

Thanks. I saw a lake on the map, just wasn't sure about the fishery. Never ventured down that far.
Lake Hartwell, Lake Russell, and Clarks Hill/Thurmond are all great fishing lakes ! Crappie, Stripers, and Bass in quantity in all 3 lakes.
Give a yell when you get here and we will put you on some good lakes and some spots.

All three of the lakes named in this thread have good to excellent crappie fishing 10 months of the year if you are willing to work for them. These are clear blueback herring lakes which isn’t typically a crappie habit, but that being said if you put some effort and “burn some gas” learning their patterns it is well worth it. I fish Hartwell and Russell on a regular basis year round.

Just got home from Lake Hartwell caught 32 keepers but only kept 20. Water in creeks 74 degrees and fish on brush . Use Slab Sauce they love it. Good luck.
