Glad y'all got on them ! Thanks for the report and pics. Obviously a great outing and another South Carolina outdoors blessing.
This past weekend was another weekend with no plans to fish. Not that I didn't want to go, but the weekend's schedule didn't look too promising for a lake outing. That was until I received a phone call from my brother in law Saturday night. He wanted to fish Sunday morning and it didn't take much to twist my arm...I mean, the boat was already hooked up to the old truck and the batteries were charged. Plans were made and off to bed I went.
The alarm went off and I jumped out of bed like a kid on Christmas morning. It wasn't long before I was off to pick up my partner. After last weekend's slow trip I warned him on the way to the lake that it had been tough. I really didn't know what we'd find, but I figured it had to be better than it was. Turns out, I was right.
The water temp had rose some 2 degrees to 82 and the fish were bunched up. We fished from 8-12 and we found fish in good numbers holding around shaded cover. The best bite came from shooting docks, but several fish fell victim to the jig pole as well. Solid chartreuse Fishstalker jigs with black flakes were the bait of choice, but we also caught fish on junebug/chartreuse. It was an extremely light bite, but with a little 6th sense plenty of fish were caught. It was a great morning on the water and I'm chomping at the bit to get back on the water!!!

Another fabulous outing, congrats! Funny how on different lakes we had like experiences. I found the fishing much improved this past weekend as well. Moon phase I feel played a critical roll. Santee is rising fast from all the upstate rains paired with the local downpours. I got on some real nice fish in waters as shallow as 4 feet on both days I fished.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Great catch Derek. Numbers and size. What more could you ask for?!
I went last Thursday didn't catch the numbers you did, and size was way smaller than I thought I'd fine, gonna hit it one more time Friday but going down the lake a little lower this time.
