Holy mackerel ( or Crappie ) that thing is HUGE ! That really ought to bring them in if there are ANY fish in the area.
    Thanks for sharing.

I feel certain the crappie will relate to it. Especially in October to December which is when I primarily fish them at Clarks Hill. I've got a few old standing trees marked that are barely exposed with the lake 10 feet down and they are in 40 plus feet of water even with the lake down. Those isolated trees can really load up with fish at that time. I usually catch them between 10 and 20 feet down then, but they also will suspend just above it hanging 4 to 8 feet down. My best trees are isolated and just inside major creek mouths off the main channel.

i always wondered about those standing trees. During low water I’ve often thought of attaching a nice cedar to one. In the fall I fully expect this brush to be more like 15 ft deep. It is after all Clark Hill were taking about.

If you can find an isolated standing tree, especially in a creek they can be a gold mine in the fall. A lot of times you will catch one or two nice fish and then they quit but you can come back 2 hours later after hitting other spots and get another one or two.
