Billy we were in the water. :-)
South of June Creek, if you don't have lead line or down riggers your results may vary. There were guys chasing birds and didn't do as well as us.
Oh and you'll like this only plastics were used no bait

Billy anywhere around the humps in June all the way down to the honey hole! They were scattered and now bunching up it seems.

I'm going to try it... I make swim baits so bait isn't a problem

    Default Wateree 12/5

Yall fellas catch them up! I'm not much for the line siders as they normally just make me use awful language when they tear through my crappie spread, but I can guarantee you that I keep any I catch out of Wateree or Murray (21" of course). They are certainly a plentiful and renewable resource ripe for the picking at both places! And I do enjoy them fried up golden brown

Congrats on what looks like some stellar fishing!

Every fish we kept was 20 in. Plus. The average Wateree striper. We kept 10 fish per person which is the legal limit. I have been keeping legal limits for 40 years and you are the first person who has ever complained. Who are you to tell a person where to fish? I have fished Norman and the N.C. Side of Wylie many times and I have lived in S.C my whole life.

Ride from Dutchman creek all the way to the lower dam and look for birds working hard without the crazy bass boats running and gunning all over them.

If you can find birds working inside a cove, or against the bank, thats money right there. set up the troll and skirt the edge of the pockets and go to work. The fish have only 1 way to escape. If the high powered bassers are in the cove, troll behind them, you will have multiple hookups as they scare the fish out of the cove and towards you!!

I think his 3 posts since 2012 explains a lot....

Had a friend that i fish with regular (even on wateree) give me a hard time the other day as well. Thats ok, they can eat that nasty Tilapia and Catfish from the fish house as well as the farm raised junk from the supermarkets. I can also easily find someone else to board my boat when need be likewise

I will post a pic here when I cook my pile of fish here in a few weeks to prove nothing goes to waste. Hell I might even invite them over for dinner.

As stated Wateree is a great example of a put and take fishery and nothing more. guys taking limits during this month or two "hot bite" aren't going to put a dent in the fishery. DNR comes in with 400,000 fish every spring. We had few down years about 5-10 years ago when DNR was stocking 250,000, so they uped the stocking to the 400,000 about 3-4 years ago and now we are seeing that Cedar Creek run come back. One issue that may arise is that Duke Energy is proposing to do away with the fish sanctuary below cedar creek dam and even want to build a platform. These fish are extremely vulnerable then, so I hope that DNR rejects that proposal.

Wateree striper does have a PCB consumption advisory for 1 meal a month, so some gluttony pre-cautions should be exercised.
