We used to drive down to the old boat ramp behind the dam at Cedar Creek and catch our limits in just a little while. We used 1/4 oz. green rubber tail jigs and they ate them up! They were a great fight on light tackle with 6lb. Test. I'm afraid that was 30-40 years ago. I haven't caught a White Bass in Wateree in probably 15 years. The White Perch won that war. hows this look Thumper? I was fumbling around in the barn,looked inside a old tackle box and saw these. They may be faded cause I think they were a darker green. I'd see a lot of folks have two jigs on one line,some would have a panther martin and a jig. The old box had a couple bayou boogies and several gay blades too. Ahh it's good to reminisce about the strong runs of the white bass. The biggest one I ever saw was behind the dam at Lugoff , I was trying to get some gizzard shad and saw the guy catch it. I feel sure it was close to three pounds. It'd sure be nice if DNR would stock some to help out rhe population.
