Default What a day, i am pooped

Well rolled into wateree landing with heavy fog at 730am. Had to use gps just to navigate after putting up the lights so one of the bass boats didnt find me. Figured i better go to a knon spot first to follow trace line in the gps. Hit my honey hole picking up 4 over 12 with largest at 15". By this time the fog was gone so went exploring new areas. Found some nice crappie where ive never fished tightlining and picked up 4 more and the striper in 20-23 fow. I also hooked something very big, the fish grabbed the bait and never turned back to the center of the lake then spit the hook. Was probably a big striper. Ended the day with 9 crappie all over 12" and threw a couple back that were around 10". Lost a few crappie also spitting hooks. The striper was released and forgot to mention i was fishing solo.

Sounds like a good day to me ! Some nice fish and a day on the water and in semi-fresh air.
Thanks for the post and the pics.

Glad you got to go and found some biting fish. Sorry I had to back out. That is the best way to learn just get out and do it and watch what other people are doing. Thanks for posting

Great job Tim. When you are pooped from fishing that is, as my Dad would say, "A good kind of tired". Nice fish.

    Congrats on the day!
Mn crappie are small for the most part, striper fought like a northern pike, and yes it was a fun fight on a 9' crappie rod and 6 lbs test on a 2500 series reel

The crappie bite was slow today, water temp was 2 degrees cooler tried 15-25' and managed three with largest being 13". I decided lets go try and catch striper on crappie rods, i managed to catch a 20" and lost one bigger. Still a fun day
