Default Went to Monticello for the first time.

Well promised my Sunday School class ( College and career age) I would take them out. Last Saturday the three of them and a friend at church took us out on his pontoon to Monticello. He fishes there a lot so that was encouraging. I really wanted them to catch fish. We got some of those candy herring and headed on out to catch those blues. His first spot was a no go. Second spot a no go. I said lets go back to that first spot the wind is down so we can hold there. Well it was game on. We let the three of them catch all the fish and they had fun. One 14 pounder and some 4 pounders with the rest smaller. Three young adults came back just a grinning and it was fun to hear them smack talk about who was going to catch the biggest.
I was really impressed with the lake and those blues well they were mighty yum yum. I see why some of you go there to fish. A very pleasant experience with no skiers. Sorry no pics they used their cameras for pics.

Thanks for the report and glad to hear you were able to fish the lake. Amazes me each trip there and hard to top the pull those cats gives.

Nothing wrong with eating a mess or three of catfish every now and then. They are good and it's good to have something a little different every so often. Congrats on the trip. Sounds like fun.

The blues are fine eating. This is a great lake to fish for cats but it can get rough if you have a southwest wind. It's about time for me to make another trip down there.

Yes I was surprised how those small cats pulled watching the poles bend and a small cat came up.
