....that I actually DID NOT fish the day of the 4th.....but you know what?!?! I dont regret it any. It is either I'm getting older or it's getting hotter. Not sure which but I thoroughly enjoyed sitting inside the house watching Redbox movies and just being lazy today. With the heat we're having I think I'll lay off fishing for awhile and let you young bucks stay after 'em. Be safe....and enjoy your catches cause in this heat youre working for 'em. Oh well....back to the grind tomorrow.

CB...as far back as I can remember I've always did pretty good on the 4th, especially in the heat, but today wasnt in the cards for me to fish. I just wasnt interested. Glad you got out and caught fish. Be sure to post the end results when theyre cooked. Congrats.

I like to leave around 4:30 (live an hour away from Wylie) and fish as much in the morning as I can! I love when the lake is still and calm no better time in the world in my opinion...good luck everybody!

I am with Butch on the fishing. I have put my rods up for the most part. I did meet Micorps aka Tim down at the damn this morning and took him on about a 50 mile tour of lake Murray and showed him some places to fish. We got off the lake at around 11:00 and it was already hot. We had around a 25 mph wind blowing straight down the lake and that made the ride interesting.

I feel your pain. As I have gotten older (70) my body heats up quick. Just can't take that heat like I used to, then that is true for a lot of things.
Well, there are lot of Rifleman episodes on tv! But not as much fun as pulling in fish!!
