Default Saying goodbye to a veteran this weekend.

My wife's BIL passed away earlier this week and his service is this weekend. Her sister died several years ago so he gets to join her now and I think he was looking forward to it. He retired from the army after tours in Korean and Vietnam. After his retirement from service he joined the police force and retired there also.
He will be buried with full military honors from the fine servicemen at Ft. Bragg, NC.
He is part if what some call " The greatest generation" and I always admired his dedication and commitment.

My father, (deceased) also fought in those wars and was decorated for valor, and recieved a Purple Heart. I feel they are truly the greatest generation. Sorry for the loss Ray. May the good lord welcome the old soldier with open arms.

My wife and I are both baby boomers born much later than our brothers and sisters. Closest one in age is my brother who is 12 years older than me.
Tough seeing them leave one by one. Our parents all died early in our lives.
    Appreciate all the kind thoughts.
