Sorry that you did not get into them after your trip down to Murray. You are right, that is fishing which does not always include catching. Thanks for the report and good luck on the next trip !
Went to Lake Murray hoping to catch a few stripers yesterday. Fished from 6 to 11 pm around the towers at the dam with bluebacks. Not one bite. I saw one fish caught at 80 ft. We went fishing and not catching.
Enjoy fishing and be a fisherman of men.

Tough day, but at least you got on the water.
Better days ahead.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
Try moving around some and getting away from the towers. if you have a decent fish finder spend the time to ride around and find active fish and you can limit out quickly. there are huge schools around Jakes and Ballentine suspended over deep water. 2 days ago 80 FOW and downrods at 54 yes 54 feet were the ticket. the problem has been small fish now that its 5 and done.
That is a tough night. Where you marking any fish at the dam and how close to the towers were you fishing. Hopefully you will fill the boat next time.
Sorry you did not find them biting. We did pre good the previous Friday at the towers fishing at 30 feet.
