After losing 2 rods due to hangups, all my reels sit inside the "Y" of the holder now. If the rod goes overboard it will have to take the holder with it. (Given enough time, I'm sure I'll find a way to do this!)

You got to be kidding me! !2 feet is all I can handle. I can't cast a 14 or 16 ft rod without wrapping the jig around the tip, then I got to lay it down and walk to the other end of the boat to untangle it.

Just so you know....Ive been fishing the same limit rods since I began LLing (what...6/7 years ago or so) and have only broke one. My fault probably. I HAD to have stepped on the rod prior to breaking it cause it didnt have much of a bend at all in the rod when it was hung and the rod broke. Learning to manipulate.....when a striper hits one of my jigs I grab the reel so the drag wont slip and jerk the heck out of the rod to break the line before the fish wrecks my set-up. You cant hardly control a striper on a rod. He goes whichever way he wants and I dont want all my lines tangled into one giant mess.
