    Default Monticello 7-24-15

Another good trip to Monticello. Put in at lower landing around 6:30 AM. Off water by 2PM. Drifted for a while without much luck so changed over to bottom fishing. We were fishing in 50 to 70' most of the time. Had to try several spots before we found the hot hole. All blues were small(6" to 14"). Did have one pretty good fish on but came off. All were caught on cut bait.

We ended up with around 50 blues.

Nice! The cats sound to be deep and hugging the bottom and 50 is a good catch for a few hours in this heat. Congrats on the day

That's a good report with ALOT of fish caught. Congats Charles. Just wanna ask....do you fish with hooks and bait for eating sized fish or are you fishing very large hooks (8/0's or bigger) with big chunks of bait for the big guys and girtls to bite? Just curious...

Great report Biggers, My buddy went Saturday evening to last week's same spot and caught some nice fish. Still using boards on transition areas. The largest was a 30+.
