    Default I pilot/humminbird hook up

I got everything hooked up but I can't get the Bird to recognize the I pilot.
I followed the instructions, tried Ipilot powered up before the bird, bird powered before the I pilot, remote on/off, foot control hooked up/not

I posted on the electronics board too.
    Any one with an idea?

There is an update, register your link and your 999 and it will give you the updates you need, also giving you instructions to load it. If that doesnt work then I would call Humminbird, may be a communication problem with the 2.
There was a software problem with the units and the update is a must to keep your bird from locking up so it needs to be done anyway.

Next question is where to find updates for the I pilot?
I didn't find them on the HB site
