Default Got some terrible news today

Got some news today that made me want to tear up a bit. As some of y'all know, I ordered me a brand spanking new boat about a month or so ago. I was told when I made the order, that it would be around the end of February before it arrives due to me having a little bit of custom work done to it. Being that it's March 03, I decided I better call the dealership and make sure he hasn't forgotten about me. This is where the sad part starts, the conversation starts like this, (Dealer) I've been meaning to call you in regards to you order (Me) Really, is my boat ready for pick up? (Dealer) Not exactly, actually it hasn't even been built yet. (Me) Eyes beginning to moisten, why is that? (Dealer) There appears to be a shortage of aluminum. (Me) WHAT? (Dealer) Yea, the Ford Motor Co. is beginning to use aluminum in most all there cars to lighten them up and improve fuel mileage. Due to this the aluminum market is in short supply. Most boat manufactures are having to back order many models until supply can increase to meet demand. (Me) Bad Word, Bad Word, Bad Word! (Dealer) It will be at least another month. (Me) Bad Word, Bad Word, Bad Word, Bad Word! (Dealer) Have a great day, I'll call ya when it arrives. (Me) No longer able to talk, as the snot bubbles begin to appear.

Be careful now. Backordering a new boat just before the spring bite might make a good man cuss!

This just isn't no way to treat a crappie fisherman right at the spawn!!! I got a little water eyed just reading about this news. You would think they would have known this information when you placed your order.

Sorry to hear that Tim. I agree with Ronnie and Snap Hunter on this one, they had to know about it. You need to tell them they need to throw in some free crappie equipment, rods, reels, line...... depth finder. I hope you get it soon.

I feel your pain, Ink. I ordered a Lund Pro V 2100 in September a few years ago. It finally arrived the following August. Sadness abounds.

That excuse sounds like it came out of the back end of a horse.
Maybe time to look at a different dealer to see if you get the same info from them
