    Default 12-19-14 Lake Monticello

Another cold & slow day at Monticello. Weather man missed it again. Pretty good wind out of the northeast till around noon. Fished down by the dam in 40 to 80'. Marked a lot of bait but little in way of fish. Mostly just clouds of bait. Started out fishing of the bottom, then drifted, then back to bottom fishing. Bite was very slow till wind died around noon. We caught 19 small blues using cut shad.

Looks like its time to try murray for cats.

Be interesting to see how you do at Murray. From what I've heard and read, Murray is a hot lake for big cats. I have never fished for them specifically but have landed several including a 28 Lb. one that hit live bait when I was crappie and perch fishing.
